Hi all. This is a personal trial I just came out of. My computer crashed and then i got this message saying the system has recovered from a serious error. Then avg and winamp caused the systrem to lock up. I was online when this happened. So can web sites crash your computer?
hmm I don't think so. just out of curiosity what site was that?
I don't think it was the site itself that would crash it. What I have seen happen is some plugins for the browser mess up, and crash it, or if something in the browser has a bug. Even then it usually just crashes the browser. But, it is possible.
The most likely cause is that you were infected with spyware, adware or some hidden garbageware that is installed without you knowing about it. If you want some fun, go to www.crashie.com hehe. Just get avg antivirus and you'll be fine and keep off the porn sites. Other possibilities include fatal exceptions oh they're fun, and viruses. Boy aren't I glad I use mac and linux hehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehe
Well i scanned my system after i used a system restore to get it working and avg didn't find anything. The site i was on at the time was http://www.sfi.org.
hey cody? shut up. Not everyone has the time or money to buy a mac or download mlinux, and learn its commands. Glad u got the problem fixed Battlestar Queen. I have had that happen before, but maybe only once or twice, and after the computer restarts, it doesn't happen again. Like u though, I have been on a site usualy when the problem occurs.
I went to that same site a few minutes ago using my pc and lab top and neither system crashed.
